Another problem with MSN/Windows
Live Messenger is the sound cuts out. This is a known problem with versions 7,
8.0, 8.1 Beta and 8.1. Usually, video will work
fine, but the built-in microphone will distort sound, not transmit sound,
or you will hear static. The recommended fix is to contact Help.Live.com for
support. The instructions they give depend on which version of messenger you
